To arms! The city’s banner is preserved in the armoury; the banner is a large yellow cloth with the dam of Gravendam in red. The black pointy stars denote the fact that you should not mess with this city. The armoury contains the weaponry of the citizen’s militia. The militia is comprised of ordinary townspeople, who come to arms when needed. The militia consists of several divisions: the archers, the pikemen, and those who are trained with swords and shields. All men must regularly train; they sometimes have to patrol the city or work as a gatekeeper. The militia is a special institution with a higher degree of organization. The militia frequently holds her own meetings - which can be a jolly gathering... They call themselves the militia of Saint Sebastiaan, and they wear special headgears in the coat colours of their militia.
